When I fell into a job in NHS, I thought I was sorted. I had a career for life, with a clear progression path and a pension plan.
After the honeymoon period I started to struggle. I knew I was good at my job and could deliver results, but I felt unsupported, unheard and isolated.
The pressure coming from different directions with conflicting demands became just too much and after twelve years, it made me leave the NHS.
Though I value the people I met there and the experiences Iâve had along the way, I wish Iâd known then what I know now. I wish Iâd known how to set boundaries to make the impact I wanted to make without burning out. If I had â it would have made my life so much easier and more fruitful.

Easy and yummy recipes to fill your lunch box or serve for the evening meal.
Think beyond a handful of nuts. Snacks can be healthy, tasty and exciting.
Life would not be worth living without a special treat. Or two. Because why not?
